PowerPoint to MCQ: quick recall checks from your slides

Turn the text on each slide into quick MCQs linked to that slide.

PowerPoint to MCQ means turning the text on your lecture slides into multiple choice questions you can answer in seconds. Recall Engine reads the text of each slide in a PPTX file and writes MCQs with an answer, an explanation, and the slide number. Pictures inside a PPTX are not read. Export an image-heavy deck as a PDF first.

p. 3

Name the infected compartment

  • Osteomyelitis: bone and marrow, bone tenderness
  • Septic arthritis: joint space, painful joint movement
  • Cellulitis: skin and soft tissue, warmth and redness

12

An example slide with selectable text built from the same table.

Which local clue on this slide points to osteomyelitis?

Show the answer

A. Bone tenderness

The slide pairs osteomyelitis with bone tenderness. Painful joint movement belongs to septic arthritis and skin warmth and redness to cellulitis. Synovial fluid is the sample for septic arthritis rather than a local clue.

Built from the “Name the infected compartment” table on page 3 of a public sample reference sheet. This is a teaching example rather than clinical advice.

Frequently asked questions

Another question?

support@recallengine.app
Can I turn a PowerPoint into MCQs?

Yes. Upload the PPTX file, select the slides, and choose MCQ as the format. Recall Engine writes the questions with answers and explanations. Each one links to its slide.

Does it read pictures and diagrams on my slides?

Not in a PPTX. PowerPoint files are read from the selectable text on each slide. A fact that only appears inside a picture will be missed. Export the deck as a PDF and use PDF to questions when the slides are image heavy.

Can I upload an old PPT file?

Upload a .pptx file. Save an older .ppt deck as .pptx or as a PDF first.

How is an MCQ different from an SBA?

An MCQ checks one fact fast. An SBA wraps the fact in a clinical stem and asks for the best of several plausible answers. The same deck can make both. Try the SBA question generator for exam-style stems.
