Privacy

Recall Engine is built around private lecture uploads and user-owned generated outputs.

Account data

Recall Engine uses email and password authentication. Profile records store your name, avatar, credit balance, and basic academic details you choose to provide.

Lecture files

Uploaded lecture files and extracted page text are stored on your account. They are used to generate study outputs and are not shared.

Quiz and weakness data

Wrong answers submitted during practice sessions are stored in your account to power Weakness Review and targeted revision packs. This data is visible only to you.

Access controls

The database is designed so users can only access their own lectures, pages, generations, transactions, and question history.

Payment data

Card payments are processed by Paymob our third-party payment provider. Your full card details are entered on Paymob's secure checkout and are never stored on our servers. We keep only order records (pack, amount, status, and a payment reference) needed to add your credits and support your purchase.

Where your data is stored

Recall Engine is operated from Cairo, Egypt, but the service does not run on servers in Egypt. The application is hosted on Vercel and your account data, lecture files, and generated outputs are stored with Supabase, both in the United States (AWS us-east-1). Lecture files are kept so that generated questions can keep linking back to the slide they came from.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings, under Danger zone. It is immediate and permanent: your lectures, stored files, generated sets, practice history, and remaining credits are removed, and credits are not refunded. Records of payments already made are kept where we are required to keep them.

Contact and data requests

To ask what is stored, or for help with a deletion you cannot complete yourself, email support@recallengine.app from your account email. Requests are handled within 14 days.
